Ciber is seeking a Senior Level DW/BI architect to be part of the Datwarehouse Appliance Analysis Project in Horsham, PA!  The Senior Architect will work with the Director of Data Services alongside members of Data warehouse /Business Intelligence team , Architects , leads, SME's of Source systems , Business Stakeholders and User Community.  The Consultant will be required to do a thorough analysis for this Effort.  The analysis only project would either validate or dismiss the opportunity to greatly enhance Insurance Solutions data capabilities through the migration of ISDW to database appliance technology. This would be done through the assessment of the total cost of ownership of an appliance as compared to standard database server technology.

 

As the ISDW begins to mature and Insurance Solutions’ long term Business Intelligence program road map starts to take shape, it is of the utmost importance that we assess the current ISDW architecture and contrast it with the evaluations of some of the industry leading alternatives in order to determine whether IS is positioned to meet the current and future BI needs of the program.

 

The contractor should do a Full scale analysis of the existing ISDW architecture and the leading data warehouse appliance options, risk assessment and technical recommendations to meet current and future Insurance Solutions’ BI needs. Provide analysis of the leading DW appliances and contrast those to the current ISDW architecture, along with fact based technical recommendations as to how to best position the ISDW to meet the near-term and long-term BI initiatives and strategies. 
The assessment will be scientific-based as it relates to the comparison of the current framework of the DW/BI platform versus the capabilities offered by the database appliances while taking into account the current and future data needs of the BI program. Any conclusions which are drawn or recommendation made as a result of the assessment will be manifested logically based on the facts which are garnered.

The team has done POC on PDW last year and the results can be reviewed.

 

The contractor is required to produce the following deliverables to a minimum:

  • Review of future BI capabilities & performance levels needed to support future business needs. 
  • Determine and document current ISDW architecture’s performance limits and constraints. 
  • Review of current DW Appliance Technologies available in the marketplace 
  • Assessment of DW Appliance technologies suitability within our managed service environment. 
  • Recommendation to pursue or not to pursue DW Appliance technology for Insurance Solutions and if appropriate, which technology best fits our purposes.

 

Qualifications:

·             Minimum of 15 years experience in IT. 

·             Minimum of 10 years experience in DW/BI domain. 

·             Advance architecture knowledge 

·             Knowledge of ETL/BI and Data modeling tools 

·             Experience in of the DW appliance technologies like Teradata, Exadata, Netezza, etc 

·             Should be having knowledge on Relational Databases like Oracle, SQL SERVER, Db2, etc 

·             Should have 10 years experience in Data management, etc.
